Loneliness is a human condition. We all feel it at some point in our lives. And because we don’t like feeling alone, we try to find other people and distract ourselves from the solitude. But as much as we try to avoid it, loneliness will often catch up with us. When this happens, it’s important that you’re prepared. It might happen at night when you’re trying to sleep or during the day when you’re waiting for someone to text back. Loneliness can be hard to shake and can last for hours and days on end, so here are five novels that may help you to distract your mind from all this things I hope you gonna like it:
One of Us Is Lying Novel by Karen M. McManus
There’s a lot going on in this novel. There’s a murderer on the loose, a secret that leaves the town suspicious of everyone, and a family torn apart by a disastrous secret. I have a feeling you don’t want to be alone with all of this. You want to tell someone what’s happening, but you don’t know who you can trust and every little thing seems to confirm your suspicion that everyone is hiding something. If you’re not an avid reader of crime novels, don’t worry. You’ll be too caught up in the story to be thinking about your solitude.
Field Notes on Love Book by Jennifer E. Smith
Eleanor Flood has a problem: she has very little time for love. She’s busy running the school’s award-winning organic garden (it would go out of business without her), devoting a lot of time to her teenage son (he’s another thing she has little time for), and trying to deal with the aftermath of the devastating flood that’s wrecked her family’s lives. In the middle of it all, she feels like she’s forgetting the love that was once there in her life. When she finds herself down on her luck and wondering whether love really is out there for her, she decides to sit down and take stock of all the things she’s missing.
The Sun is Also a Star Book by Nicola Yoon
The book is about Natasha and Daniela, who meet each other in a star-crossed love at first sight. On the surface they seem like opposites, with Natasha spending her life creating elaborate doll’s houses and learning about love and Daniela spending her time in the punk club with her boyfriend. But what could possibly happen between these two crazy kids? Nothing, that’s what. But the only way these two people are going to come together is if they decide to give each other a chance. No pressure!
A List of Cages Book by Robin Roe
This novel is one of the first adult novels that has taken on the topic of loneliness. Robin Roe’s new novel A List of Cages details the lives of five different people who have been abandoned by their families. The novel details the pain, neglect, and mental abuse that the characters endure as they try to survive in a world that’s beyond their control. A movie version of this book will be released in September 2018.
Don’t F*cking Panic by Kelsey Darragh
Don’t F*cking’ Panic is the perfect novel to help you deal with the fact that you’re all alone and your loneliness is kicking you in the balls. Here, Karen O’Neill is an ex-junkie who can’t seem to get the connection she wants from her man, boyfriend, or anyone else. So, she decides to break out of her shell and, without telling anyone, she takes a road trip across America in her RV and meets the world.
