For many people, waking up in the morning is a struggle. You don’t feel refreshed until midday, and the thought of getting out of bed seems impossible. For others, though, waking up early is a breeze. They’re full of energy and ready for anything. There are many benefits to waking up earlier in the day. You can start your day with more time to exercise or enjoy breakfast before heading out to work, for instance. Here are some tips on how you can wake up early without feeling tired in the morning.

Morning Routines

For many people, mornings are extremely chaotic. After getting out of bed, they rush around making breakfast, dealing with snooze buttons, and preparing to leave the house. For a lot of people, getting into a morning routine helps reduce the chaos. You can choose the order you wake up and the things you do when you first get up, which helps you feel more organized and prepared for the day.

Start your day with a workout. You might not feel like going to the gym, but if you change your habits and take the first step by doing so, you’ll feel invigorated. You can also use it as a time to reflect. You might be thinking about what you’re going to wear to work, or thinking about what you need to get done that day.

Setting Your Body’s Internal Clock

Before going to bed, take your blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure or you have a family history of it, be sure to take it at least two hours before you go to bed. If your blood pressure isn’t improving or getting better, talk to your doctor.

A common tip for a healthy blood pressure is to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, and to do that, set your bedroom around the same time every night. Even if you wake up a little earlier each day, you should aim to stick to a similar schedule each night. You can find out more about how your body’s internal clock works here.

Change Your Thinking

Whether you want to make it a habit or you have a scheduled alarm, make it a habit to avoid using sleep as an excuse for your laziness.

Sleep Better

A major benefit of waking up early is that you’re less likely to fall asleep at night. When you wake up earlier in the day, your body is used to waking up at this time of day, which helps you avoid sleepiness. If you aren’t used to waking up early, it will take some time to get used to. Take note of how your body feels each morning before you go to sleep and each morning before you wake up. You’ll eventually figure out your natural sleep schedule, and it will become second nature.

Enjoy Your Sleep

Getting the right amount of sleep is essential for having a healthy lifestyle. To wake up early in the morning, you need to be well-rested. Your sleep schedule should ideally go from night to night. The sooner you go to sleep and wake up, the better your health will be.

Dealing with Anxiety about Waking Up Early

There are many reasons people find it difficult to wake up early. It might be because they’re stressed about the rising time or they’re afraid of being tired at work. For some people, the night before is full of negative thoughts and concerns, making it even harder to rise early.

Whatever your reason, the first step to learning how to wake up early is accepting that you’re not alone. There are many people who don’t like the morning at all. The following tips might help:

Get to bed early. Studies have shown that getting a good night’s sleep will help you feel refreshed when you wake up in the morning. To fall asleep faster, make sure to avoid using electronic devices and to leave your bedroom by 9pm to ensure you’re asleep by 11pm. Get some exercise.

Put a Plan Together

You should start each day by planning out your day. Do you have any major events planned for the day? Do you have any meetings or appointments? Do you have anything that needs to get done before you can leave the house? If you have a lot of these things to do in the morning, you’ll feel more energized by getting the list done first. This will help to give you an energy boost and push you to get out of bed in the morning.

Find An App That’ll Help You Wake Up Early

There are many apps available on the market that can help you get up early in the morning. For example, one of my favorites is Goji. This app has a host of different wellness features that you can use to motivate you to get your day started.

Start Small and Build up

Becoming a morning person isn’t something that can be done overnight. As with any other type of habit change, it’s important to start small and build up from there. In the first week, wake up a half hour early and work your way up to waking up early every day. For example, if you start off waking up at 8:30 a.m., try waking up at 8:00 a.m., then 8:05 a.m., and so on. The next week, set an alarm for 6:30 a.m. Then, once you’ve made the transition from sleeping in to waking up early, try to wake up even earlier in the following week. After six weeks, you can decide whether you want to continue to wake up earlier or go back to sleeping in.

Keep Your Sleep Shifts to a Minimum

Even if you manage to wake up early and stay up later, it’s important to try and keep your sleep shifts to a minimum.

Conclusion

Some people aren’t morning people, and there’s no shame in that. However, there are some simple tips to become a morning person, and they’ll help you feel more energized and ready to tackle the day.
