What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a word used interchangeably for “mind watching”. This term is pretty misleading because mindfulness has become an increasingly popular term in recent years. Whether or not this is true for everyone varies by personality, but the point is that mindfulness can foster healthy decision-making.
What Does Mindfulness Mean For You?
For most humans, mindfulness began as something as benign and simple as simply noticing events occurring around us. In other words, we tend to ignore things happening around us daily unless we are experiencing something important, which in itself is problematic for most.
As our experiences increase, mindfulness increases. We get good at being aware of our surroundings with the realization that we will continue to be grateful if something amazing happens. There is even more appreciated when the events of our lives are unfolding at a very high level, so mindfulness becomes indispensable. When we take time to appreciate all aspects of life, we cultivate gratitude as a habit. A lot of times, gratitude is just something of feeling grateful, especially when there is no reason for gratitude. However, we grow better at recognizing gratitude when presented with opportunities to demonstrate gratitude ourselves.
